What are we about?

Worship (see Our services) is central to our life together with God

We aim to play our part in making the Good News of God’s love for all people known:
– by caring for our own community and its people as well as for the well-being of our city through participation in the Leicester Street Pastors scheme;
– by supporting the wider Church in its total mission in Britain and overseas;
– by regular support for Christian Aid, Action for Children, Methodist Homes, Methodist Relief and Development Fund, Samaritan’s Purse, Traidcraft and many others on an occasional basis as the needs arise.

Sharing the Good News
We want to share with others the love God offers us in Jesus. In the recent past, we have held Alpha courses with our friends from St Cuthbert’s and have invited people to share Barbecues on our frontage at the cross-roads in the centre of the village at which we can offer friendship and speak of Jesus and of God’s love. We are always on the look-out for new and imaginative ways of faith-sharing.

Caring for each other
We are a caring fellowship and have a comprehensive system of pastoral care for all those who are part of our life, praying for one another regularly, but especially in times of trouble or illness, supporting one another on our Christian journey and building one another up in faith, hope and love.

Christian Unity
In response to Jesus’s prayer that all his people should be one, we are actively pursuing closer relationships through an informal partnership with our friends at St Cuthbert’s Church (Church of England).
