Mighty works

The restoration of our 1827 listed chapel is nearing completion (Alleluia!!) and excitement is mounting. It looks as though the end result will be very pleasing and provide a congenial home for our worship and base for our mission, as well as serving the wider community. The work should be completed in early September and the new carpets fitted the following week and after that 50 comfortable new chairs will be delivered. (No more bony pews – alleluia!)

The reopening festivities are scheduled for the weekend of 23 and 24 September.

On 23rd at 3 pm we shall hold the Rededication Service at which we shall dedicate the renewed building and our renewed selves to God. The service will be conducted by our own minister, Rev Fran Rhys and the preacher will be the incoming Superintendent of the Leicester Trinity Circuit, Rev Edson Dube. Alas, because space in the chapel is limited and we have so many special guests (who have helped us such a great deal) to fit in, that service has to be by invitation only.

However, on Sunday 24th  September, at 10.30 am, we shall hold ‘The Big Harvest Welcome’ Thanksgiving Service to which everybody is most welcome. As well as the good old harvest hymns and a reminder of the delights of God’s creation in the superb harvest decorations, the warm, friendly and informal service will include items of interest for all.

This is followed by a Bring and Share Lunch for everyone who attends.

Then, on the afternoon of Sunday 24th  from 1 to 5.30 pm, it will be ‘OPEN CHURCH’ when you are most welcome to come and see this beautifully restored historic chapel, feast your eyes on the special harvest display and enjoy tea, coffee, soft drinks and scrummy cakes in the Hall.

We look forward to welcoming you….
